Casey's Actor Typing Workshop gave me useful and actionable information I can use to kick start my acting career! I decided to start acting at the beginning of this year. Taking a class, watching videos, and reading books were some of the things I did to learn this craft. I planned on getting my first headshot and soon after, try to get signed to an agency. Thank God I found this workshop before I did. I had no idea how I might be perceived by others and therefore no idea how to effectively get my headshot. This class broke that down for me and definitely saved me time and money when I get my headshots done!

James Ruth (Headshots) Casey E Lewis truly stands out when it comes to the art of the headshot, especially when using his expertise in understanding different character types, which made a significant impact on the effectiveness of the shoot. His innate ability to distinguish between comedy, commercial, and drama types, and navigating the micro expressions that lend themselves to the best shots of those types, allowed us to craft new headshots that are unique, expressive and tailored to each genre (In my case, Comedy, Drama, and Commercial). Working with Casey was an absolute breeze; his workflow in the studio and in the post-processing steps are seamless and easily accommodating. So accommodating, in fact, that Casey's generosity in providing ALL 500+ of the outtakes from our sessions has left me with a great understanding of the variety of looks and expressions that I find myself doing both on stage and on screen. Gabrielle Katterjohn (Self Tape Boot Camp)
I was hesitant to join Casey's Self Tape Bootcamp, thinking it wouldn't be as "fun" as a character or scene study class, but I couldn't be more wrong. I had a blast! I learned important taping techniques, tips and tricks for editing/uploading, and how to connect to a character - even for a short audition tape. I was correcting mistakes I didn't even know I was making and have been able to eliminate the distraction and stress over how the tape looked so I could focus on the audition itself. I couldn't recommend this bootcamp enough!!

Brett Bullock (Acting Typing Workshop, and Headshots) Casey's Typing Workshop came very highly recommended at a point in my career in which I was questioning where I fit within the industry. It was exactly what I needed for clarity and peace of mind. I was aware that Casey also provided headshot sessions, however I did not feel pressured at all during the Typing Workshop to make a headshot appointment with him. I respected that and felt comfortable with Casey enough to book my headshots with him. He was very helpful in his direction and guidance to capture the looks I wanted to portray. |

I am trying to find ways to keep my Actor skills active!! Your class is like an exercise program for this work. There are days I just don’t want to go to the gym, but I always feel so much better after I have a good workout. And your class gives me an awesome “actor workout” and reminds me how wonderful and fun the process is!
I love how this class helps me figure what I actually and literally know about the characters I am studying. I am learning how to nurture pieces of myself that will ultimately help to create more authentic interpretations of the people I play. It’s hard! AND it’s fantastic! Especially when you get it!

Nicole Weber (Headshots) If you're an actor looking for GREAT headshots that will showcase your personality and type, I can't recommend Casey enough. Not only is he an exceptional photographer, he is also a working professional actor and understands the importance of a great headshot from that perspective as well. Casey also takes the time to prep with you, arranging a conversation a few days prior to your shoot to go over what "types" you'd like to capture in your images, what you'll be wearing, background preferences, and any other pertinent details so that on the day of the shoot everything runs smoothly. I've never had a photographer invest that much additional time with me before, (I used to live in LA,) and it meant so much to me because I could tell he was truly committed to giving me the best experience and results possible. Casey is incredibly kind, professional and has such an understanding of what's trending in the market. And the result?? Great looking shots! It was such a breathe of fresh air working with him. I'm an LA actor living in Minneapolis for a bit, and needed to find a self-tape studio for a great recurring role on a new pilot. Could I have whipped out my own ring light and found a wall in my temporary digs? Yes. And if I didn't find anyone in town, then I would have done just that. But honestly, I like focusing on the ACTING part a thousand times more than the tech sh*t.

His set-up, coaching, and editing are all top notch.
I pride myself on doing my work at home and then relaxing on the day. With Casey at the helm, I was able to do my job. MY job. Not the "other side of the camera" work I would have had to do trying to find someone to read lines with or then planning my timing for the scene so I can record the other lines on my iPad that I then play back, trying to pretend like I'm connecting with other humans and hoping my phone has enough memory and then oh my god are you f*%#ing serious why am I stressing out about this please dear god can't someone just let me be AN ACTOR!!!!

Casey is great. We needed help with my son's audition tape, and he was recommended to us, he is very competent and professional, and a very nice guy!!! He made us feel very comfortable when we met, and his lighting and studio set up made for a high quality recording. He was able to edit everything together very quickly while we waited, and the end product was excellent. Casey offered my son a bit of coaching, which was very effective and resulted in a better audition.
We won't hesitate to call on Casey again.

As an assistant professor of theatre at a small private university, I teach a variety of courses. I was offering an Advanced Acting Seminar that covered the business of acting and auditioning. Our institution was recently fortunate enough to have Casey visit our campus to present a 2-day workshop focused on the Business of Acting. I can say, without hesitation, that the information presented was insightful, relevant and inspiring to the young actors in our program.
While it might be enough to say that the workshop was extremely effective, it must also be noted what Casey brings to the table that makes his presentation more effective than some others. Essentially, it boils down to his deep passion and understanding for approaching the material from the perspective of a teacher. Many actors, while understanding the complexities of the business and being quite accomplished at their craft, cannot as easily convey the necessary information in ways that young actors find beneficial. Casey is an exception to this. He has the heart of a teacher and the desire to make a difference in the lives of those with whom he is interacting. Our students responded quite positively to these traits, and it made them excited to listen and remain engaged and open in their interactions throughout the workshop. Another positive aspect of Casey’s work is his humor. I recently used SRVCSrendered to self-tape an important audition I had for a Civil War film. It needed to be an exterior, and Casey selected a beautiful location for the shot. He brings a broad and deep skill set to the table as a director, cinematographer, and actor. Casey carefully guided me through the audition to make sure I made compelling choices. I was really pleased with the footage. Out of over 1,600 submissions for this role, 40 were called back, and I was one of them. I'm confident that I would not have made that cut without the assistance of SRVCSrendered. I highly recommend this company for your next self-taping!

His lighting set-up is spectacular, his notes and feedback (if asked for) are thoughtful and truly help you deliver your best performance. He's giving yet understated as the reader and lets you watch your takes back to ensure you're happy before moving on. Casey worked closely with me on the initial design concept even though I didn't know exactly what I wanted apart from requiring the website to be professional and accessible. Casey ran with that simple instruction and came back to me with three great prototypes. After choosing the best option and making a few customizations, I was up and running! I would definitely use SRVCSrendered again for future projects. Highly recommended!

I had to do a video audition for a job and a role that were very important to me – Vanya in “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” – to rehearse and play first at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and then at Arizona Theatre Company in Tucson and Phoenix. I turned to Casey Lewis and SRVCSrendered for help. I was amazed by the care he took, his thoroughness, his technical knowledge and skills, his attention to every detail, the critical eye he also kept on the acting, the advice which followed, and his patience. There was no rushing. He allowed me to do multiple takes of two rather lengthy scenes, helped me choose the best, and then helped me upload them to Vimeo. I got the job – which was one of the most rewarding in my long experience as an actor – largely thanks to Casey. I highly recommend Casey and SRVCSrendered.

Casey coached me for a lead on a Jerry Bruckheimer pilot entitled "Modern Men" for Warner Brothers and for Clint Eastwood's feature entitled "Flags of Our Fathers". On both occasions Casey brought a calm level of insight that helped me make unique and individual choices far beyond the obvious on the page. I can honestly say that the Bruckheimer audition went wildly successful with the room of writers, producers and directors literally cracking up with laughs that I had to hold for. The writers were fighting for me with the studio! With the Clint Eastwood project, casting called and put me on hold as Clint decided between me and one other actor. Casey really took my talent to unprecedented levels. On top of it all, Casey has taught me tons about self taping and has been instrumental in my blazing the path in the digital video realm.
